ISM Provision Installation Guide 1-23

Solaris Platform

For the Solaris installation you will need the ISM Provision CDROM, and the license

key to activate the ISM Provision server. If you do not have a license key, you can still

install the other components, and you can still install a limited evaluation version of the

ISM Provision server.

To install the ISM Provision server and device communicator you will write new files to

the

/etc/init.d directory, so you need administrator privileges to install these

components. To install the clients, you need no special privileges, beyond the

permissions to write files to the directory where you wish to install them.
